I interviewed before the embassy suites existed and got in the Hilton for about $100 a night.

If you have an account for aviationinterviews.com I'd recommend checking them out. Their gouges are pretty spot on. To answer your questions directly, Delta handles travel both ways, just hotels and rentals are on you. They'll book them for you and send you the email with the flight information so you can plan appropriately. Plan on bringing your bags to the interview (they provide storage) since you'll be flying back that day. Embassy's are typically pretty good hotels. I don't think you can go wrong with any hotel immediately around the Delta HQ. When I was there I got a rental and stayed at a hotel a little further away. You should only need one night.

Get there early for the interview and make sure all your paperwork is there and in order. Go over the list they send several times because the paperwork is the first thing they ask for when they bring you in. The people running the interview are very warm and welcoming, but they do expect you to have your stuff ready upon arrival. They let you know what rules to follow when you get there and are very clear about them. Listen closely and do what they say. Otherwise the morning consists of the HR interview questions and personality test with breaks for breakfast and lunch in between. After that around noon they'll start shuffling people out who aren't selected for CJOs. You do NOT want to hear your name called out at that time. Everyone that remains is given a CJO that day and moves on to the rest of the interview tasks. That consists of some more paperwork (nothing crazy), drug test, talk with a phycologist, and fingerprinting.

They day is long, but fast and efficient. Honestly its probably they best interview experience I've had, but you do have to be prepared.

FWIW I got the CJO a few days ago and submitted no LOR's. If I had studied AirlineApps closely I would have; but it clearly wasn't a dealbreaker and never came up. When I walked into the HR portion I just signed the bottom of an AirlineApps printout, they put it down and started firing away on the panel questions. If you have the interview then press on.

Logbook shouldn't hurt you either way. Personally I would probably not fiddle with it and go back to practicing my opening speech or other interview prep.


Fly in day prior, hotel by 3PM; I went to the Hilton at 1031 Virginia Ave. On the fancier side, good thing I was burning points. Next morning walked over at 6 AM per email instructions; security booths and road guards will know who you are and clarify which door, etc. Rest is straight from the gouge. "...at exactly 0645 Ms. Dorathea came out and greeted us..." CJO's around 1 ish? Left building at 4:30 ish, showed my visitor badge at campus bus stop, was taken to airport terminal for free. Ticket counts gave me a standby ticket to try to non rev home early (original was safely scheduled at like 8 PM). Got home early.

There were a couple people who gamed the system by asking for next day (or later) return non-rev flights - extended family in town, etc. Sounded like it was easy to ask for. Standard is day prior in, day-of out, but out was variable on request.

Not in regular gouge:
1. 1031 Virginia Ave computers and printers are sketch. Forgot to print psych release form; last minute, 5 AM, lobby - trying to load and print. Front desk was super cool and I emailed it to her and she printed it.
2. Ms Dorathea tweaked the paperwork reqs last minute: did not want originals of any packet-2 docs (ATP, medical, FCC, etc). "no originals, 1 copy only. Nothing extra" so follow the email rules to a "T" and then be ready to pivot. I felt like a cartoon comedy yanking crap out of the folder and shoving it into my suit jacket pockets.
3. Even the traffic patrol people are rooting for you and fist-bumping you as you cross the street to the cafeteria and back. Have never seen anything like it.

Not that it matters now, but for others reading, you can email the rec link to anyone. You can even email it to yourself. If you do that you'd see it has a block to check for DAL employees and an employee number.

Apologies if this has been answered in the past but I just got an email asking to update my info.
I was only able to update on the 7th calendar day as requested by the notice. So I may have missed the deadline.

I do not believe so. Could be an automatic one though after 60 days of no updates. The fixit emails looked different and only received one of those prior to the top tier. I just think that there is a possibility I was dumped out of the process because I missed the update deadline.

Awesome this is exactly what I was looking for. Got kind of a dumb question now. In the email it says not to have anything tabbed, binded, paperclipped etc. I have my logbook tagged with checkrides and such from previous interviews. Is this something they will be picky about because it's considered a document on the list. However it also says to note all checkrides in the email.
