I was curious about this as well. I submitted my app on 7/29 and haven’t heard anything. My availability date is set to 11/1, however. I wonder if that could be a factor.

Two years. You can move bases on the same equipment within that two years based on position offering on the system bids.

Only way to break the 'aircraft lock' is to bid to a base that does not have your equipment or upgrade. In either case, the remainder of your original seat lock is added to your new lock.

Hi Matty,
Could you please give an insight on what the Virtual Recruiting Event was like? I have it next week.
Is it more of a screening process and fact-checking the eligibility, or is it interview-type questions, scenarios, "Tell me a time when..."
ETC?

Thanks!

more time won’t make much of a difference imo. Having the right time might. Getting some turbine pic would enhance your application. Do you have any degrees? How long ago was your bust? If you failed anything in the last 2 years that could be why they passed on you. They clearly saw something they didn’t like. So having more hours, something you already have plenty of isn’t going to move the needle. Having 121 experience, 737 type, turbine pic might more than flying more

Yeah for sure. It was a current Delta Captain. He started off by asking “Tell me about yourself” so I rattled off my 30 second elevator pitch about my background. Was very casual. He looked at my resume. Asked a few questions. Then I told him I had already received the TT email and was waiting on the assessment invite. At that point, he stopped asking about my resume/application and we just talked for the next twenty minutes about Delta rumors, some specific questions I had about my flight records, and he gave a couple pointers for the interview (emphasized Customer Service TMAAT stories). The goal of the session seemed to be to make my application as appealing as possible to get the TT email. And if you already have that, have some specific questions ready to go that you can ask. He wore a polo. I wore a dress shirt and jacket because I wasn’t sure how formal it would be.

I’ve got a bachelors. Attended law school for 3 semesters and did well, but I didn’t like the direction it was taking me and chose to withdraw. Maybe that was an issue? Had 500 hours at that point. Got my commercial multi and a flying job and am much happier.

My bust was over 2 years ago; Feb 2021. Several passed rides since then, including ATP, recurrents, currency after paternity leave, 135 new aircraft transition, initial 560 type, and AQP recurrent.

Current company seems to have paused on upgrades recently… so not sure if PIC is coming anytime soon. Seems like going for the 737 and getting 121 time are my two options, and that leaves only one option. I’ll do some volunteer work too.

Thank you!

DAL newhire here in ATL finishing up indoc this. week. I flew for Uncle Warren as well on the mighty XLS. 2500 TT, 1100 Turbine and only 320 TPIC in C90 King Air. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme/reason to the selection as I can tell because I was probably one of the least qualified people hired out of my interview group as the only type I have is the 560. If you have a decent line at NJ I'd wait it out there. You'll have CA upgrade eligibility there soon. Indoc and training can be stressful esp at SWA with their training footprint and long time away from home just to hopefully be picked up with DAL and have to do it all again and forget all the stuff you learned at SWA. Best of luck to you send me a PM if you have any questions!
