Default Preparation for AON?

How long should one prepare for the AON once invited? Plan on using airlineassesmentprep.com but don't want to buy it until I know that I'll be taking the assessment. From what I've read, it could be a month or more before I'm contacted to take the AON, just received the Top Tier notification. I've also read that you have 7 days to complete the AON once notified. Is that enough time to prep and pass? Appreciate any words of wisdom for those who have done it already. Thanks.

Honeslty, this is a good question. I’m in the similar boat. Received AON this morning, so clock has started on the 7 days… I’d like to see what other people are saying, but I don’t really feel like there is a set time on what’s good to prepare.

I did the airlineassesment prep as well, and don’t feel much better about it other than better understanding how to accomplish certain parts.

Use the prep to get really familiar with how the games work and maybe develop some strategies. Medium difficulty is what you should aim for. Also, with the AON, you get as many practice rounds as you want before each session.

IMO, these games may not be looking for the general outcome. I know I didn't do good on a few of them. Maybe they are looking for accuracy vs speed on sudoku. Maybe how many times you slow down vs speed up in the tunnel. There could be way more things being tested than counting balls and matching shapes.

This. And then all the good you do on the tests can be undone by the personality assessment. I took it, I’m at peace with what happens. If I have to take it again in 90 days, so be it.

it could be days it could be months to get the aon. If you got the top tier it’s coming and you should start practicing. I practiced for 2 days and took the aon as soon as I got it. There’s no telling how long someone really need to practice for it. Everyone has different cognitive abilities and starting points. Your only sure fire way of knowing you did everything you can to pass is to practice till you’re comfortable with the games.

I was hired logging my training at ATP as one block. Not a peep from the interview team about it.

I'd say don't overdo it on the prep. Maybe 2--3 days after you get the invite then just take it.

Nobody really knows what they're looking for, but some people think the brain games are just to wear you down the the personality test at the end. That's where the magic happens because it's actually a lie detector test. Be brutally honest, even if it makes you look like a jerk.

Whoever on the hiring team looked at your app must have been different than mine and a few of my friends. We all got fix its to make the adjustment.
Their choice, YMMV

I have an interview scheduled and I received the what to bring email, I going to print out my updated log book from Log Ten I'm considering using the Coradine International Logbook format not sure if that's the best one to go with also in the email it says not to bind or tab any documents, is the logbook ok to be binded? Also didn't see anything that says bring a copy of a resume I was planning on updating it but not sure if they'll even look at it? I know that following the instructions is critical to the interview. Thanks.

You can download a Jeppesen format for Log Ten if you want to go that route. Personally I do not think the interview team will care what format you use. I took mine to a FedEx Office location and had them print mine out (even had it done in green paper) and had them spiral bind it with a plain black cover on either side. it ended up looking very professional and only cost around $28. good luck, and don't over think it.
