DL Hiring: New Process
#4141
My buddy at F9 Frontier waited 3-3.5 weeks from top tier to assessment. They’re just really backed up, right now

I think the audio comprehension is the only one you can't practice. It is the easiest of the tests and you can use pen/paper on that one.
8 sections:
Spatial orientation (ndb/rmi in relation to aircraft-its timed for 3 mins)
Reaction speed (click when two shapes match each other)
Deductive logical thinking (sudoku style—which shape should be in which position on the grid)
Monitoring ability(how many dots are moving around in a circle)
Multi-tasking capability (3 tasks at once—-adding/subtracting, determining if shapes are duplicated in a row of other shapes, and a slider like the game asteroids where you avoid objects to prevent a crash)
Auditory comprehension (audio clips of clearance read backs or approach clearances and you have to choose the correct answer from 3 multiple choice options
Complex control (use your mouse to guide your plane through a series of rotating circles)
Work-related behavior(standard personality test)

I’m new to the group so I apologize if this has been talked about before or if I’m hijacking the wrong thread. I’ve been lucky enough to be offered an interview in a few weeks and I don’t want to put the cart before the horse but has anyone recently been hired from a solid part 91 job? I’m just trying to decide if I’m making the right decision if offered the job. I would commute to ATL/DTW if able with a 3:30 hour drive to ATL if needed (also with the opportunity to live in ATL). Year 1&2 paycut would be would be the biggest issue along with a commute to somewhere other than ATL. But trying to see if anyone has experience leaving a really good part 91 job. How quickly would I get back to mid to high 100k. I know it all depends on class drops but if awarded something other than ATL how long would get get back to ATL? Thanks so much.

Did my assessment last January and that was matter of weeks so 5 weeks does not sound too bad, but I know, the annoying waiting game...
Anyway, hang in there!

You'll see there are multiple websites for practice tests, but be aware that not all of them offer the tests as they are on the official assessment.
I used and can recommend the Delta package from pilotassessments.com as their practice tests are very similar to what you can expect.
Have a good one!

Year one would be the lowest around 100, but year two you could get into the mid 100s without effort and higher end with some greenslip (overtime) opportunities.
You could get ATL in the drop. If not, bid anything except the 220. We had our first AE (aircraft/base vacancy bid) in six months so movement happened all over. I know one guy that got ATL in that and another that didn't but got NYC which was closer than the west coast.
With that drive only issue could be short call reserve where you would be driving halfway to hang at Starbucks until your time expires.

Another timeline for reference:
- Top Tier last January.
- 24 days after Top Tier - AON Invite referencing a job fair that I attended (I received this email after talking to Delta at another job fair.)
- Failed AON.
- 80 days after AON Failure - Went to another job fair.
- 93 days after AON Failure - Received another AON invite referencing the job fair that I attended.
- 100 days after failing AON 1, and 7 days after taking AON 2 - Passed AON email / Interview Invite.
Fyi, both sets of emails were identical up to the point where I failed/passed: Top Tier, AON is coming, AON link.
My original interview was scheduled 61 days after getting the interview invite. I was able to get an interview date a lot earlier, and now I have a CJO. There were many times when I wondered if it was worth it to outlay all of the time/effort/money required to attend events and meet with Delta, especially this last one where I wasn't yet eligible to retake the AON. It was definitely worth it, as my 2nd AON invite at day 93 referenced the job fair that I attended at day 80.
