Does anyone know the success rate of those who interview? it seem some company’s like to haul in a huge interview pool for only few positions, others seem to have a 50% job offer rate goal. Just trying to figure out where Deltas hiring falls. Thx for the info…

If you're invited to interview, Delta wants to hire you. We don't have the resources available to interview 10 pilots for every open position. I believe the success rate pre-covid was north of 70%.

I feel sorry for the young folks trying to get flying jobs these days who have to jump through all these hoops. It used to be a logbook review, HR, and some operational questions. Now it's all these asinine computer games and in depth TMAAT situational questions that test everything but flying and leadership skills. All to get a job babysitting an Airbus or Boeing that people flew 30+ years ago without a degree or all this mumbo jumbo. We are going to DSM, not the moon here. What's up with the NASA interviews? Why do they feel compelled to make things so much more difficult than they really are?....

If they invite you for the assessment, they want you, but now they are not willing to spend a full day of testing when they can be doing face to face to see if you fit.
Also, no JKT is a huge plus.

When I interviewed a couple years ago 4 guys got PARBd. I remember seeing two in the class after me so for what it’s worth I think it takes a few weeks and just depends on when the board meets from your interview date. Not sure of success rate but it was 50% for that group.

The key (was) whether the psychologist “had concerns”. They will use some of your demographics to probe any potential weak spots. For example, if you are divorced, lost a parent, busted a couple checkrides, they would put a little pressure there to see if your reaction was normal, or if you got emotional/defensive. In this case, IMO the best answer is not to get emotional (but don’t be wooden), and to turn that potential ‘chink in the armor’ into a strength. Something like “It was a hard time, of course, but I had great support from spouse/friends/parents, kept my chin up, and am stronger for it. Words, words…”. They are looking for confidence and stability.
Best of luck.

When hiring began again in 2014, I heard the PARB success rate was upwards of 90%.

Good advice. It’s my understanding that the PARB happens after all your interviews with panel/psychologists. Thanks for the response

I know of another carrier where they claim they want to hire everyone, but less than 50% will get a job offer. Delta isn't like that. The hire rate is about 72-75%.

But that was pre-COVID so who knows what they’re doing now.

Don’t know how many get flagged, and thus meet the PARB at all, but I’d guess it’s less than 10% of CJO holders. And again, the vast majority of those keep the CJO after, and aren’t delayed in starting Indic.
Finally, +1 to the fact that if they invite you to interview, they want to hire you. It’s literally yours to lose at that point - you just have to meet the minimum scores in each area to get the CJO. Also +1 to the philosophy that one should spare no expense in app review & interview prep. ‘Gouge’ is out there, and there are a lot of new hires willing to help if asked also. Good luck.
