*STANDING OVATION*
*CLAPS FURIOUSLY*
Its hilarious how those foreign companies relentlessly drill their pilots on trivial stuff doing training then require automation in nearly all phases of Flight. I believe at EK above 10,000 ft its mandatory for the Autopilot to be on. Clear these guys for a visual approach and get your popcorn ready

Ah, yes. Children of the magenta.
If you have not watched the You Tube video, it is excellent.

I know deep down automation is letter for overall SA, and generally safer, but sometimes you just have to kick the dang thing off and hand fly. Especially if you do zero flying away from 121. Those skills are probably RUSTY.

For those that have completed the new online remotely proctored pilot assessment, how long until a response was received, whether successful or unsuccessful?
If successful, do you solely receive an invitation to interview, and the ability to select a suitable date? How far into the future are interview dates?
For those that have interviewed, and were successful. What is the current time between receiving a CJO and start date?
Thanks in advance for any details that can be provided.

Its a balance. Automation cripples who never hand fly are doing themselves a disservice. If you can’t turn the autopilot off on a vfr day and fly a visual approach without it becoming an air show, you need to reevaluate your routine and adjust accordingly.

Someone cue up the 1900 guys. Back in my day we didnt even know how to use the FD, and it was a single cue! They said you'd learn it on the line, and we were happy to have it on an ils to mins!
And get that man cool off befroe takeoff, watch for the bite on the ammeters when you drive the pack full cold until it kicks on the VCM. did you know the VCM is just a ford air conditioner... Ya know I got a good story about -...

I was jumpseating on a legacy one time and the pilots asked what I flew. I told them and the Captain looks at the FO and says “is that the one with all the $hit hanging off the tail?
We didn’t even have autopilots. I’ll never be that good of a “hands on, stick and rudder” Pilot again. Hand flying 6-10 instrument approaches a day, down to minimums, in the Northeast. (Well, I flew half and watched half)

From FB post.
Here is an update on what to expect:
8 sections
Spatial orientation (ndb/rmi in relation to aircraft-its timed for 3 mins)
Reaction speed (click when two shapes match each other)
Deductive logical thinking (sudoku style—which shape should be in which position on the grid)
Monitoring ability(how many dots are moving around in a circle)
Multi-tasking capability (3 tasks at once—-adding/subtracting, determining if shapes are duplicated in a row of other shapes, and a slider like the game asteroids where you avoid objects to prevent a crash)
Auditory comprehension (audio clips of clearance read backs or approach clearances and you have to choose the correct answer from 3 multiple choice options)
Complex control (use your mouse to guide your plane through a series of rotating circles)
Work-related behavior(standard personality test)

Does the assessment have a practice session prior to starting or detailed instructions on what is required?
