True, but you can definitely get a vibe on a person leading up to the interview. In my group, only 1 person didn’t show up to meet with the interview group for dinner the night before. He was one of the ones who got kicked in day 1. Was not showing up the reason he wasn’t hired? Well of course not, but maybe his attitude behind not wanting to meet up spilled over into his performance. Maybe he was super nervous and trying to cram every last second of studying in, maybe he was anti-social, maybe he was cocky and over-confident, who knows.
All I’m saying is that in some cases when you find out a certain person was cut you can think back and see the possible red flags showing they might not do well.

Saying someone didn't get the job because they slam clicked the night before is about as dumb as saying they didn't get the job because they weren't wearing a blue suit and red tie. The truth is that the hiring process is a complete mystery to all but those who run it and we make crap up to try and make it make sense. Because thats what pilots do.

I don’t know of anyone doing 220 training in Miami. Our class 220 peeps have about 3 weeks after indoc before they start sims.

I think it was MCO not MIA that we were using for 220 sims, and to my knowledge, that is no longer.
I don’t think AB in MIA has 220 sims

This happened to a friend of mine....he called the 3rd party company doing the background check and discovered that that while they had completed the background check, the results had not been sent over to Delta...they claimed some technical glitch on their end, but I assume it was an error of omission on their part.
They sent it over that morning while he was on the phone and he got indoc invite that afternoon.
I would reach out to background check company ASAP and if you don't hear back from them in a day or two, shoot DL Pilot Hiring and email so they are aware of the delay.

Yep hired! Heck I shoulda just gotten a few tall boys and finish cranking through season 1 of Yellowstone. Much more valuable than the Ruby Tuesday visit. But I also slam click a lot more these days than I used to so it's probably just me. Yea probably me. Nevermind, go to ruby tuesdays, have a blast, best time ever.

I called Delta Pilot Selection, they didn't have an answer. I called the background check company and they gave me a different Delta e-mail to try. Sent them an e-mail yesterday and haven't heard back today. I guess it's possible that it's just not done. I'll give it a couple days I figure calling them incessantly doesn't do anything.

Man after reading through some of this thread, you peeps gotta chill out and just interview. Don’t listen to past stories of doom and gloom from the hiring department at the big D. The interview is way chill and these folks want to hire you. Don’t worry about all this logbook nonsense, don’t highlight and tab or whatever that was all about. Just show up to the interview feeling good and looking good, be yourself and everything else will fall in place.

I think I had green tabs for check rides, yellow for a failure, and blue for each time I changed aircraft type. Sort of the “chapters” of my career. Used a cheap label maker to title the tabs as my hand writing is awful. Not that any of this is required or necessary.
But yeah, they’re normal people and want to hire you!
