Semantics are important since so many of our PWA grievances revolve around loose language.
I will agree that an "entry level pilot" does have a category lock IAW with PWA 22.G.2
However, PWA defines "Entry Level Pilot" as a pilot that hasn't finished initial OE...once you finished IOE, you are no longer an entry level pilot.
And, take a look at this recent AE results....hell there are entry level pilots on that list that haven't even started IOE yet (EDV flow) and they went from NYC to ATL.
The M.O of the company is they treat it as a 24 month seat lock, not a category lock.
I will write to my LEC to recommend that inconsistency / confusion in that language get cleaned up.

So can't even bid until your 12 month point, but then depending on the length of the AE conversion window, could be another 6 to 12 months until you finally convert.

EDV folks were “hired” and got a class drop 3 months ago. September “hires” will be in class November with 3 months of seniority… October in the December class, November in the January class, etc. EDV pilots that have been hired but not yet trained are eligible to bid on AEs.

That's pretty messed up.

And I don't know why you singled out just military pilots. Literally every pilot who started class after the EDV guys were put on the list are in the same boat.
And honestly the end result is still the same, because if Delta didn't delay the EDV pilot's actual indoc dates then they would already be on property and still on the seniority list in the exact same spot.
