It most certainly does. They made it very clear in indoc that you still have to have one backup flight to make sure you are on time for IQ sims. We had one guy that tried to take the early morning flight in and it got canceled. After he came in late, the whole class got the lecture from BB.

Sounds like another change from past practices. I would love to see where in the PWA or FOM he decided this was the new rule.

have two freinds who just finished INDOC recently and they both had @ 7-8 days off before training starts.

FOM 3.4.1 seems pretty clear that Unable to Commute policy applies. Says, "pilot's scheduled or assigned duty, including SLI's who are commuting to a scheduled training event."

unable to commute is completely different than positive space to and from training.

How does FOM 3.4 apply when you're traveling on company business IAW 13.3? You're not commuting, therefore the unable to commute clause does not apply.

"Company business travel is not to be used for rewards, commuting, or personal business purposes."
