It most certainly does. They made it very clear in indoc that you still have to have one backup flight to make sure you are on time for IQ sims. We had one guy that tried to take the early morning flight in and it got canceled. After he came in late, the whole class got the lecture from BB.

Speaking from experience, as I just did this a year ago: Your schedule after INDOC will be 4-5 on and 2-3 off, but you will probably have a week or two off first. During sim training, you can positive space home after your last sim session of the week, and then positive space back to ATL on the second to last flight of your off day (if you want to maximize time at home). Of course, this depends on several factors about where you live and so forth. In my case, I was seeing my family more during DL training than I did while working at my regional carrier.

FOM 3.4.1 seems pretty clear that Unable to Commute policy applies. Says, "pilot's scheduled or assigned duty, including SLI's who are commuting to a scheduled training event."
