New Hire Class Drops

Which is hella annoying, because the answer could affect years of my life. I'm happy staying on the fleet if my seniority keeps going up, but if it's going to be death-by-stagnation, I'm jumping ship and taking on a seat lock. I thought I knew what the answer was until this came up. I'm not sure even CR knows what they're going to do there.

I don't effing know anymore. FltOps Management has stated on multiple occasions, as recently as just over a week ago, that the plan there is to narrow down to 80 crews by summer 2022 via not backfilling vacancies. However, this AE has a projected size of 149 B's. I don't think CR is talking to FltOps, and Network probably isn't talking to either of them.

After reading the CR Monthly update, it looks like SLC will be the "filler" base. They'll size NYC and SEA appropriately as they think they need, then stuff the rest into SLC, expanding and contracting as needed based on Network's needs. Plus leave a bunch of open spots to support significant new-hire goals. So I guess the best answer to the question is "who the heck knows", but if the base is all you care about and you don't care about aircraft, personally, I'd take the 73N. But I don't think it'll matter much in the end.

Apparently I can't go back and edit my post.

45% NYC
30% SLC
25% SEA
Seattle will grow while slc will naturally shrink with spots not being backfilled. Don't take these bids to heart, April they were going to displace SEA7ER and then there were 40 open spots for new hires and 300 unbid 7ER spots. Bid what you want, want what you bid. But even if they do award 220 SLC spots you should still bid 320/73N first.
I bid 220 living in SLC thinking same as you, but Seattle has really screwed up that plan. I'd just bid the other 2 narrow bodies first. They have growth as well, better pay and trips and so far are junior to the 220. If you get 220 as 3rd option oh well. Might be a wash anyways.
