Hey guys. I' was just offered a CJO and am awaiting a class date. I have several questions I have been wondering about...I currently live in Connecticut for approximately another 10 months or so. We are planning a move back to Utah. With that in mind, would it be better for me to bid NYC and try to swop with the AE (advanced entitlement/system-wide bid) or bid SLC and commute for the 10 months or so? How often does the company offer the AE? And then, let say one is awarded SLC, can one be bumped out of that base by a shift in seniority somehow?
Appreciate all the info here, and excited to get going!

Hello ,I got a CJO a week ago and background check is almost done, the question I have is how doable is to bid NYC on A320 commuting from Madrid Spain. How soon would I be able to hold a line …if anyone knows .thanks

you can be bumped by a displacement, but for FO’s that’s very unlikely. 10 months commuting is probably unlikely too, SLC 73N/320 has been going to new hire classes for a little while now. Even the latest simulation run we did today has both fleets with unfilled new hire positions.

I'd bid NYC 73N, 320, or 220 in whatever order you prefer to avoid the commute and extra expenses with any SLC openings as a backup. If they plan on doing this monthly AE you should be able to put in for it about six months down the road and transition nicely. Plus you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of being based in NYC (faster senority rise, no commute stress, same day green slips). Displacements are pretty rare but going through some this AE and one more by the end of the year as the 7ER gets booted out of Seattle. Welcome to Delta!
Yes, this is kind of what I was thinking. Having 2 sub-2-year-old boys at home means I do not want to spend extra time on the road. I'm going to have to figure out how this system works to pick up the good cash trips. Looking forward to it.

SLC320 - 12/2021
SLC73N - 8/2021
SLC220 - 4/2019
If the 330 does indeed ever come here as a base these numbers will move more junior too
