Wow. Several of those positions weren't even offered on the current AE. How does that happen?

Right. I get that. But if the company has them open and available, they should be offered to current pilots. Not new hires in a seniority abrogation.

Except that’s exactly how the PWA works. Those spots were available last bid. And no one took them.

Did no one take them, or were people who wanted them seat locked?

That issue keeps happening and should be addressed in the PWA. It creates seniority inversions. A perfect example is the newhires currently on the 330 and 350.

I believe this was product of all the COVID MOAB seat locks.

Default Base decisions

Hey guys. I' was just offered a CJO and am awaiting a class date. I have several questions I have been wondering about...I currently live in Connecticut for approximately another 10 months or so. We are planning a move back to Utah. With that in mind, would it be better for me to bid NYC and try to swop with the AE (advanced entitlement/system-wide bid) or bid SLC and commute for the 10 months or so? How often does the company offer the AE? And then, let say one is awarded SLC, can one be bumped out of that base by a shift in seniority somehow?
Appreciate all the info here, and excited to get going!
