New Hire Class Drops

It's because of the higher NPS that the 320 fleet has. The 737 scores lower NPS so they tend to put them on the lower margin leisure routes to the beach destinations and save the 320 fleet for the higher yield markets. Has nothing to do with fleet reliability.

Give me 737 overhead bins over those 321s every day of the week.

Wasn’t trying to refute what you said, just a convenient quote to reply to. Sorry if it looked like I was slamming you. Just making the comment in general.

Never. Our pre-pandemic high was the June 2018 seniority list which had 14719. That's when they (Gumm and others) found "efficiencies" in our trip building that led to the slowdown in hiring which in turn led to summer 2019 being "a little hot". We drifted down to the 14400's for many months until they started ramping hiring back up at the end of 2019 to play catchup. April 2020 had 14703 and of course it dropped precipitously after the VEOP.

The UNAcorns (and indeed everybody non UNA above) got a nice little seniority bump thanks to VEOP with the spree hiring to make the difference up last year. It’s feast or famine isn’t it? Pretty phenomenal movement for them.

Yeah it’s crazy I went from 90 from bottom during Covid staring down barrel of furlough to 3500 behind me. Gone by so fast…
