When I first started on the 737, we had the fewest departures out of EWR compared to JFK and LGA. Now, it's 37JFK, EWR, then LGA.
NYC 737 has the best domestic flying in the company IMHO. DL uses the 737 out of NYC to do all the Caribbean flying, so lots of AUA, SDQ, STI, PUJ, SJU, etc layovers and a lot of times those trips are just one leg and done on day 1. a typical 3 day would be one leg down day 1, turn to JFK and back to DR on day 2, then one leg back on day 3.
220 does all 3 bases, but EWR is the smallest amount of rotations with LGA being the most rotations.
Company is still taking deliveries of 220-300's and we have about 30 ex Lion air 737-900's showing up too, so no telling how network changes fleet strategy as time goes on.
