LAX 737 vs 320
Anyone with insight on pros and cons with 737 vs 320 for LAX? NH with high SS number here so I should have to pick between the two.
(ie fastest climb of seniority, best overnights, staffed enough for flexibility of swap/add/drop etc)
thanks!

The Airbus is a vastly more comfortable and pilot-friendly aircraft if that matters to you.
I’ve been on the 737 for just over a year and can generally hold weekends and holidays off while avoiding redeyes. Overnights are typically short and the Hawaii flying is all 320 these days, though Mexico is relatively common on the 73.. We’ll see what the future holds…
Don’t discount the 7ER which does show up in the drop on occasion.

If I had to go back 6 years and see this drop, I’d go bus. Comfy cockpit, lots of variety, NEO taking over 75 routes with 75 pay, growing fleet, differences courses for the rest of your DL career. But hey, that’s just how I see it after going to the bus after 5 years.

Also, the 321neo are taking over long routes that used to be on the 737, so the 737 flying is trending to shorter, less efficient flying. (meaning, 2-3 legs a day instead of 1-2).

Chosen by people that want to live in ATL/DTW, avoid NYC, and is rarely their first pick. I met some older flows that chose it because it was the only DTW option and they didn't want to commute in their few years left.

The trips are slightly better on the 73, though that’s not saying much. Depending on where you live you’ll also have the SNA option on the 320, which can be nice for Orange County and San Diego folks. More 320s are coming in to LAX, so you’ll likely gain seniority a little quicker there.
