Other types of “moonlighting” may be allowed if they’re not in competition with DL. The CPO can provide a form you can fill out to request authorization.
Remember, when dealing with bureaucrats (CPO, FltOps, Govt etc) none of them ever got fired for saying no.

Just heard from a friend, 4 phone calls with scheduling and CP before they admitted he was correct on a scheduling issue. Anyone not willing to stand their ground 4 times would have been given an illegal assignment. the claim was a computer error and then an ARCOS error. He's convinced there was no error and they just did what they "needed" to do to cover a trip. The excuses were different depending on the source. He said it was interesting how the "reasons" for the error evolved, almost like nobody wanted to accept blame or take responsibility. I wonder why? The PWA doesn't mean **** culture is being bread into the new schedulers!

Wierd because its true? Or weird because new hires need to be aware of what's going on? I was reaffirming the post above mine. Your post seems weird that I am monitored again.

Weird because it has nothing to do with new hire drops or any other conversation that was going on.

I've got a class date early next year, but the FOMO is hitting really hard. With EB announcing hiring to slow at the "town hall" in MSP, I fear that I won't see a WB B let alone a WB A position for +15 years. I'm finding it hard to stay when UAL has unfilled CA positions, and I could be in a WB A position within a year. Is there any hope for WB flying at Delta?

1. Hiring isn’t slowing, it’s returning to normal. Last stated number was 100-125 a month.
2. I’ve stated before that the large number of seat locks probably has something to do with it, but we have had NYC and DTW WB positions go to new hires.
3. Recently announced that they were looking at 350 “variants” so probably an order for more coming.
4. You will be WB at United sooner, that is true. They go junior because their reserve rules are way worse than ours, and they have more WB planes.
5. If you live in a base, go there. That’s a no brainer.

To add, the planned hiring chart shown at the standards meeting was full bore hiring except dips leading summer and holiday peak periods to allow instructors’ fly months to be put to most efficient use. Nowhere on the chart was a sustained 100-125 a month number.

so I heard

That may be, I’m not in the know. That’s just what JL and GH talked about in the last town hall. Take that for what it’s worth.

If you’re a flow or DCI, you have access to DLNet. Pull up the retirements list, and see right now what # you’d retire at. Then take a look at the last months worth of classes or so and count how many younger than you per week, and add that to your current retirement number to see where you might end up. It’s rough, but gets you ballpark. I’m seeing a handful of 2060 and later retirement dates each week, we are hiring very young.
