Signed, another seat locked DTW B.
So out of 150 total let’s say that’s a good 5%. Makes a big difference for seniority if you look at it that way. Back in the day moving up 5% was a big deal

I wonder if we are trying to make changes to this to match United.

Yea but we have a bunch of new 350s coming over the next few years. It’ll happen sooner or later and when it does we’ll be happy we have junior folks below us. In the meantime enjoy your seniority on the NB!

What policy does United have right now?

very true! Although not sure seniority does much since most pairings are no bueno right now.

I think the contract should be modified so that a pilot can get out of a seat lock before a vacancy can go to a new hire.

You are not locked out of moving up in pay categories. If you get 737 as a new hire, you can bid (and be awarded) 787 the very next month.

United reserve rules drive WB B over there very junior. Their reserve rules heavily disincentivize being junior in anything.

Not the same thing. We have hundreds of pilots here who probably want WBB that can’t have it because (unlike UAL) our seat locks fence them off assignments going to junior new hires.
