New Hire Class Drops
#1322
Trip qualities are about the same. Just the flavor is different.
FL, FL, and more FL
vs
Red Eyes
vs
Burgs and the Villes
(Before the APC admirals attack, it’s more nuanced than that, I know)
The better questions are where do you want to be based/live, what’s more important (QoL vs Money), and what type of flying do you like? (With that first question being most important)

I would personally go to the aircraft/base that makes your life the easiest. If SLC is the best for you I would list all the SLC aircraft first, then go to other domiciles. Personal opinion though. I want to be home as much as possible and not be commuting.

That’s up to you of course. I prefer not commute, or make my commute as easy as possible…so if SLC meets those criteria for you, and a 220 to SLC was on my drop (and a SLC320 wasn’t), I’d know what I’d do.
As a west coast guy, the last thing you want to do is get stuck east coast. Don’t try and game the system…take the sure thing. With our AE process, it can take up to a year from results being published for you to change bases. There will be plenty of time to change over to the 320 (and the pay isn’t dramatically different the first couple years)
And with the possible new training center in SLC coming along…training down the road might not be too difficult for you.

Trip quality is pretty awful on all the narrowbody fleets right now. 73 and 320 have a lot more variety but the 717 has no redeyes and faster seniority progression. It's really just a matter of deciding what is more important to you - holding weekends/holidays off but having RJ-type flying on the 717 or doing more interesting flying and making a bit more money but staying junior longer on the 73 or bus.

New hire pilots from Nov 2021 are holding lines with their training carry in credit.
Sept 2019 hire for the next junior line holder on the page.
Hire dates are vastly different, but they're only separated by about 15 pilots, due to covid etc.
