If I understand correctly, as an affected pilot I can proffer an award on this bid with no seat lock. If I am awarded a new airplane on a following bid in April and have not converted, it is still considered a proffer and I am still not seat locked vs if I have converted it is considered an AE award and comes with a seat lock. That is my understanding

I believe you are correct. My guess is that everyone who gets awarded something on tomorrow’s AE will be converted the day prior to the big 365 AE posting. I would also guess that one will be soon after tomorrow’s closest so they can adjust the training schedule as much as possible to avoid wasting a slot on someone who will require another training event to change aircraft.

Also the surprise mass convert has made it so a lot if guys on mil orders but not training for months aren't able to collect Delta pat while on orders.
Of course those with non military Rona jobs can double dip.
I think its kinda BS. I am supposed to be back in time for my late April SRQ, but now I can't get paid by Delta because I'm off doing stuff with my reserve squadron, but my sim partner who is working at a non mil job is ok to get paid as long as he makes training.

I left a message for BS on Monday letting him know the AE memo would come out on Thursday announcing an AE on Friday. Apparently he didn't get the message and indicatedn it woukd be out Tuesday, no Wednesday, wait Wed night, oops Thursday morning. Funny how that happens, every time....
In an effort to help for March, CR has my permission to copy and paste the below text...
"We have a surplus of pilots in ATL 717B and are posting a displacement bid of 30 positions. If enough pilots bid out of ATL 717B, we may not award all posted displacements. Because of the displacements the conversion window for this AE is 365 days."
They gotta have a displacement bid and 717B has the least downstream impact.

I normally bid around the reserves. But when I'm NQAT for 1.75 months there's nothing to bid around.

Do you want to come back and fly or not? Luckily, you’ll have 30 days in October to decide before they resign your number on your behalf.
I would have rather been flying this past year than fitting parts together in a factory.

I'm supposed to be back April 10th.
Id make my scheduled sim date. But its Corona world and I'm one unexpected quarantine away from not making it.
As soon as I got a training date I started working getting the orders modified to accommodate.
LOA 20-04 had us as affected pilots until we started training or converted.
My training was last week of April with a May conversion. I planned to be back on that timeline
Get converted with 0 days notice, after I already had a training date and a projected conversion that jived with that.
For the non mil people, Delta prohibits us from working for Delta on a day the reserves are paying us.
A guy with a civilian side gig has no such restrictions. That's in a very gray area legally.
Under normal circumstances. I'm on a trip. Captain is a mortgage broker. He can spend the 48 hour DSS layover working on that stuff as long as Delta comes first and he's properly rested.
He spends a few hours a day doing that vs golfing or drinking by the pool.
If I take the exact same hours, I cannot do unit admin work and get paid for it.
