I’m going to attempt to expand on your scenario. If Biden wins the election he already won, he’s going to lock down the whole country, all the established airlines and air lines will liquidate, interstate air commerce ceases (or are Fedex/UPS/Amazon/ACMI exempt?)(do trucks and trains have to stop moving too?), and the economy grinds to a halt. Then, new companies spring up from the ashes to take over the broken pieces, form new airlines and air lines (plus train and trucking companies), and the national economy is reborn. Did I get that about right?

Better get in at Breeze and Airbahn, they’ve got impeccable timing to take over the industry.

True. I thought about that. When would the WARN need to go out again - I forgot.

Anyway, I thought closing it out early was good move to assuage the emotional roller coaster many (including myself) have been on since April.

I saw the merger/acquisition stuff. It didn't trip any alarms so I didn't get too concerned about it. I see it as more of a "in the case of" type of thing.

Still and easy YES vote from me. I think this passes no problemo.

29 Nov I believe. It’s why JL has said they have to have something by the 28th because the furlough notices expire.

How so? Couldn't the company then just gone ahead with the furlough? It might not have been likely but stranger things have happened.

The 30 hour pay starts as soon as ratified, so let’s say they start it on the 26th. It would start a prorated day of 1hr vs. 2.4 hrs for UNA. It would only be for the 26th and 27th until furloughs went into effect though, because furlough pay would be included in the 30 hour pay moving forward.

If the deal is ratified there would be no furloughs or furlough pay. They'd get Nov 26-30 at the pro-rated 30 hours then get 30 hours for Dec and onward. Also, it would seem that the ~200 or so of the 1721 still flying the line would immediately be moved from flying status to 30 hour UNA on the 26th.

That could get interesting over a holiday weekend! My hunch is they'd just keep everyone on and pay protect until December 1st?

Right. Scoop asked how UNAs would get more money by the vote ending after the furlough date (or closer to it) vs on the 25th. UNAs would maintain ALV pay vs 30 hours for those couple days.
