I agree! The question is how long will recovery take, and will we let the market find a way?

Obviously our course now for economic recovery is Keynesian, but do we go to far?

The overall “Market” is already finding a way, hitting record highs. Granted that doesn’t translate to every industry, and it looks very different to pre-covid, but it is adapting.

To get passenger numbers up to 1.5 million by July 2021 we need some things to happen.

When will conventions start again?

Also, when will we see fans back in the seats for sporting events? I'm hoping at some point during the NFL season if Covid cases continue to decline.

Driven by Amazon, eBay, PayPal and the technology sector. Manufacturing and energy is doing ok too.

The service industry - travel, leisure sector took it between the legs and probably be down for 5-8 years.
Here's a screen shot of the marine traffic site (someone mentioned it on here one time). The blue guys are cruise ships.

Last count was ~30 or so of them anchored around the bahamas. They're parked. Been like that since March. Jets, ships, hotels, amusement parks all in suspended animation.

Opening international travel will be the match that starts the drive. We'd break a million quickly after that. Business travel will follow, and hopefully next year we can start to put people into stadiums.

agree with all of that.

Also get rid of mask requirements and that will greatly increase travel.

Unfortunately I don't think you understand the international travel restrictions. The issue isn't people getting into the US. The problem is almost no countries will allow travelers from the US to enter. In some cases they will allow entry after a two week quarantine.

So the US dropping quarantine requirements is basically meaningless.
