[QUOTE=Gen6;3064885]Thoughts on the following:?

-9/11
-BK
-08 Financial Crisis
-Covid 19 Pandemic
-Change in the retirement age to 65[/QUOTE

One word “Plastics.”

Seriously though, too early to tell on the long term affects of Covaid, and the other four were all going on somewhat sequentially although partly simultaneously in what we refer to as the lost decade. 9-11 contributed to BK, which ****canned the pensions which led to age 65. Throw in the 08 crisis about the same time as age 65 and you have a decade long event.

if I had to guess I would say Covaid won’t even come close. Of course the industry was already heading south when 9-11 occurred and it was on a roll when Covaid hit and we have massive retirements forthcoming. It will be a rough ride for all of us, much worse the more junior that you are but IMHO it will not come close to the lost decade.

Best furlough advice I’ve heard so far, don’t get divorced. Happens a lot, don get stressed and take it out on your significant other. The difference between Delta Captain pay and regional airline Captain pay is 1 divorce.

For the guy who was married to the crazy lady, I feel you too. I bailed out of a similar situation in my 20s, I was lucky to be broke at the time. Hope you find out you’re better off without her ASAP.

What's funny is that I had a Capt give me the completely opposite advice when I was getting furloughed post 911. He said if you're thinking about it then do it while you are making money at a furlough job not C2K rates.
