For a little context. Back in 2001 Delta voted in a new contract. As we march inexorably towards bankruptcy we continued to get yearly pay raises even though the company was in dire straights. (UAL had been offered a contract of Delta plus 1 $ which they turned down then BAM1 911 hit....timining is a *****).

Anyway 3 or so years later the pilots took a 16-18% voluntary pay cut to stave off bankruptcy. That "voluntary pay cut was in essence the pay bump we had been getting that other employees or other pilot groups weren't getting.
(Story is in essence correct , numbers may be slightly off).....also adds a little perspective to don't lower the bar prior to bankruptcy because then you'll be starting from a lower number. I agrree with that but, (in our case) that higher number was a little "skewed" and was the result of good timing
When bailouts came, the same ire was prevalent from tax payers to all the other employee groups at Delta.

So an opposing union at a competing carrier asks for one analyst to create this document and you take it as gospel? I see this as more of a power move to attempt to convince AA management they aren’t as bad off as the majority of analysts believe. It’s posturing on APA’s part, not so much a shot at Delta.

Sometimes its worth saying "you're on guard!" and other times (actually most of the time) its best to turn the volume down a little and just let the meows and whatnots die down on their own.
