This is just a trick to staff NYC.
Nobody wants to be the jerk who makes new hires commute to probie interviews.

Not sure if we could base there. I was thinking of a “Berlin Airlift” situation where we bring in books & birth control. They could trade us Brisket and BBQ.

We made lots of strategic mistakes by being overly conservative with covid staffing and fleet reductions. The result was billions and billions and billions in increased costs and missed revenue, and degradation in reliability. But, hey, we are still better than AA overall, so our leaders must be infallable.

Remember that AA’s focus city was announced a week after Glen said we were doubling down on AUS. They opened it in October 2021 and it finished Q122 with load factors in the 30-40%’s. I don’t think the 4th floor is losing any sleep.
Meanwhile my extended family have enjoyed the $60 fares on the TUL nonstop.

AUS/SAT is definitely a pipe dream at this point; we have all but given up on even making AUS a focus city anymore after AA has swooped in and eaten our lunch there. It would have been great but I just dont see it happening. Look how long its taking BOS to open after we have actually declared it a hub and followed through with a lot of growth. AUS is basically just served from the hubs and at this point I doubt we have the necessary capacity to try and compete with AA there or WN for that matter.
