Rumor has it that they will be replacing the crew vans with hearses when they change the age. They'll just take the dead pilots right off the aircraft and send them straight to the cemetery to be buried with all their money.

A FAA regulation does not require any congressional input much less approval.
And apparently the FAA Chief Flight Surgeon does not have a problem with age 67 and seems to think it’s a done deal.
Or it’s just another online rumor.
Stay tuned .....

Well, actually nothing was factually incorrect with your post. Adding 2 years(67) to the 5 years(65) sounds like a windfall when presented "factually" as you did. The only rub comes when its put into context. Close to 10 years of the kick in the nads contracts re pay, retirement, QOL etc still looks net negative from some perspectives. Like I said -10 +5=-5.....a net negative.
Right, if they change the law, I'll never fault guys for staying IAW the new law. That said, unless ICAO changes, it will be messy. What would those guys do, go back to a plane that doesn't go international (other than Japan or Australia)? Back to the the right seat?

FAA employed and regulated Air Traffic Controllers have a mandatory retirement age of 56.
Somehow, in a job field that can go south infinitely quicker (MCAS, accidental TOGA selection on a 767, slip sliding down an icy runway), it's somehow a good idea to keep pilots in the cockpits for more than a decade longer?
I don't believe it, but I couldn't believe it when the age went to 65, either. Who wants to work until 67, then die at age 70 leaving all the $$$ and the toys to ungrateful relatives anyway?
If it goes up to 67, does that mean we have 2 years fewer worth of "dead zoners" to worry about for contract stuff? Just curious.

Oh, can someone please step in and regale us with their stories about how many times they had to save a 60+ yo pilot on a flight?
Please, pretty please?
If they don't top 3 "saves" and several other "had to sit on my hands"....they are unworthy.....that's the ante for this round of the game!
