True. While I don’t agree with you that if you can’t get into a category on a particular bid it is the same as not being able to hold it.
The key distinction being award vs hold, to hold it you must already be on it.

I do agree however that our AE system flat out blows and our seat locks indeed lag our peers. Combined this can really negatively affect a Pilots ability to bid I just don’t think it is accurate to insist if you can’t get a seat on a particular bid equals not being able to hold it.

I'm 26 years into my seat lock. Any future AE would be a 50% cut in pay for breaking the freeze.

A wise old sage, Pooky, after a night of Velcro Pygmies once told me "dont knock it until you try it." I forgot what he was talking about.

But then the waffle house waitress dropped two plates on the table and toppled his orange juice in his lap.

He didnt flinch. Because he was serious. And we were deaf.

So dont knock it until you tried it.

Waffle House after seeing the Velcro Pygmies at the Supper Club. That was a very standard night for me for a few years.

I wish I didn’t try so hard to get out of there. Those years were so fun.
