Look, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but stick to the subjects where you know what you are talking about, because you are just exposing extraordinary ignorance on this one. I'm out.

Oh, I can see how media industry programming totally translates to being a Medical Doctor... I'm curious, do you consult WebMD to diagnose that rash? What a joke. Dude, seriously, it's not that easy. There is a reason it takes 12 years to become a board-certified doctor, sometimes longer, and why in the last decade they had to scale BACK to 80-hour work weeks in med school... Oh, and by the way, they call it the Art of Medicine for a reason. SMH.

Several states (like Georgia), use "normal" folks to do anesthesia in surgeries. These are not nurse anesthetists, and certainly not anesthesiologists. They go to school for a short time, get certified, then do the surgeries. The practice is overseen by a Doctor or two, but the heavy lifting is done by average Joe.
It was funny to watch the nurse, when I go to the local Minute Clinic for a head cold. They click on a tablet, select from a bunch of drop-down menu items, then hand you a prescription. There is not a doctor within miles of the place. There is almost no reason for a nurse to be there. It could be done by the average Starbucks worker.
It really isn't much different than our jobs. We no longer learn systems like we used to. We operate during non-normal situations using a menu. We basically run through a standardized recipe, and flip the switches required. Then we use a flow chart to decide what next steps would be appropriate.
Healthcare is headed toward the same "cookie cutter" approach.

Until we get to the advanced models. Then we will have fights about Civil Rights for robots, and fights about robot marriage, robot adoption, and can robots be elected to political office...
A pilot I flew w said a robot wife was stupid, because they can't have babies.
My response: What if they CAN have babies...what then?
Another pilot said he would never be attracted to a robot, so he wouldn't have to deal with it.
My response: What about when you go out with a girl for 6 months or so...everything is going fantastic, and you're thanking your lucky stars. And then, she says, we need to sit down and have a serious conversation about what I am going to tell you. I didn't want to tell you right away, because I thought you might be prejudiced towards robots...

Dude. You've given this quite a lot of thought, haven't you? Just remember: you're going to have to be nice to the sexy robots, too. Their memories will be even better than the real thing.
