My experiences alone also don't define everyone but..... Many of my students were on those flight teams and I never saw anybody treat others poorly at that school because of what part of the program they were in. Urban legend at best. I know that can't be said of all flight schools but in the six years I was there, yeah I was a little slow since I paid my own way, I never saw that.
Congrats on the football team though. You must have been pretty proud with their performance lately.
I never heard anything ill about WMU, but there were some schools out there that had reputations for attitudes about anyone who went to what they considered a "lesser" program.

No regrets. Too many think the market is Vegas. Pilots are cooler people to hang with.
When I said I sometimes wish I would have focused my efforts on futures trading, I didn’t mean sitting at home scalping the markets. I meant working for a company or institution. I didn’t mean taking a weekend seminar and buying their indicator software. And I also am not complaining about the money, either.

Plumbing, no one wants to let gas pipe and drinking water get too deregulated. They are most common people at the airport who "work" for a living. Most own their own mom and pop plumbing company and retire millionaires. Also PRN Nurses can make $60-$90 an hour in California and make OT and are unionized. 200k a year as an RN believe it.

Yes but when your housing/tax costs are 3x-5x what mine are in GA... and even 2x+ more than what they were when I lived on Long Island, NY.... that money becomes quite devalued and the "amounts" become considerably skewed.

If you’re a high school senior, are you picking the place that you’re going to have fun Saturday night and watch good football or nerd it out on the flying team?

When I was picking schools
1. Girls
2. Party
3. Football

With a bad back and arthritic hands. I bought my last house from a retiring plumber. The electrical is first rate because he bartered for it. The plumbing sucks because he had his apprentice do it, or used leftover parts from his paying jobs. I've got a house full of plumbing fixtures that look like escapees from the Island Of Misfit Toys.

He showed up at the closing with a limp and a stoop.

Nothing is more satisfying that working with sick people all the time. Projectile vomiting, poopy clean-up, and rubbing cortisone into oozy butt sores is easy-peasy...er...easy-queasy.

Best to keep this career, where my only exposure to spontaneous urine puddles is from my brothers waiting for AE results.
