There is the option to quality the bid to ‘line holder’. The caveat is that it is a best guess by the company as to where that line will be.

Interesting. I didn't know this. How long can one be off of previous equipment before requiring a long course to go back?

12 months or less gets you Special Requal training (SRQ) which is similar to CQ.

More than 12 months up to and including 36 months gets you a Normal Requal (NRQ).

More than 36 months gets you a full month of Waffle House, Malone's and BBQ Kitchen on Virginia Avenue.

And you are a really nice guy and I'm certain Crew Resources knows that so I don't forsee a need for you to fill out an MD preference - I'm sure they will let you be. 🙂
Potato.........potato........ The result of either is similar.

Lol! If I was based anywhere other than where I am........I probably wouldn’t bother filling it out...

Is there anyone at D-ALPA we can talk with in order to look at our situation to possibly offer advice on my situation or others so as to be more effective at our AE choices. Thanks

Congrats

For all the grumbling, Delta is a great airline to work for. Even though some on here have only been at Delta for 4 years they seem to complain.....hopefully you are bigger picture

As I said before, I truly empathize for your CJO delimma but in the scheme of things totally insignificant 30 years down the road. It will however give you the ammunition to turn into a curmudgeon and tell the young whippersnappers how you got screwed back when they were just a pup:>

That alone is priceless

Can anyone help me find the "Check box if you desire reinstatement rights" in iCrew?

I've been looking on iCrew under Add/Update Displacement Preferences and I can't seem to find it. But it wouldn't be the first time I looked right past something 4 times in a row on iCrew.

It’s under Advance Entitlement/Reinstatement Preferences, not under Displacement Preferences.

Just think how great this place could be if everyone with 5 years or less would just shut up and color! Our next negotiation would go so smooth!

Newsflash: this is just another job. Professional pilots who have been earning paychecks flying airplanes for years/decades elsewhere need not hold their tongue for me. Folks can be 95% satisfied with the job and still identify shortcomings or ways to make it better... even as newbies. The attitude that registering any complaints is curmudgeonly...is curmudgeonly in itself.

Keep the good ideas coming, and don't keep secrets when management tries to exploit you. They'll take whatever you give them - be it in your first year or your last. They've got their job to do, and we have ours. The reality is that our priorities are often in conflict, so fight for anything that you think will improve your career and the life you'll share with your family.

I am recently qualified in 717B as of just a couple of months ago. And now 320B. If i were to get awarded 717A, and attend training would these same rules apply (would i get a short requal course or an entire full course?).

Also, if i were awarded 717A (and break existing seat lock with first time captain upgrade) then my remaining seat lock time would be added on to standard 2 years correct?

Versus If i were to be awarded NY C10A, i could break my seat lock because it is a new base...And that remaining seat lock does not come with me?
