It's all relative. There were airline pilots who commit suicide post 9/11 and 2008. It was rough back then. While a vacancy bid may not be good news, at least no one is being furloughed/losing their job.

Agreed. No AE for 5-6 months??? North guys have been howling for monthly bids

My understanding was that was essentially a backfill.

You millennials need to buck up. Things are not bad or dire. We are growing. We are profitable. We are retiring huge numbers. We are tired of snowflakes whining about minor issues. Man up dudes. You have it great. Sorry you can’t hold 7ER A at 3 1/2 years. Deal with it.

I'd agree with this. Everyone likes to call out millennials but I definitely hear more complaints from non millennials.

I’ve been reading all the posts to get a better understanding of the processes not to mention a FNG to Airlinepilotforums. I didn’t even Know what an AE was until this week. I’m one of the guys that received a CJO and ultimately got canceled for my Indoctranation class. You guys are the experts, what do you all think the timeline would be to start the pipeline back up based on this AE?

Let me know the category/categories and I will check JB's most excellent AE analysis product for the last AE. However, I'm pretty sure the company can't arbitrarily expand the size of a category without posting such expansion as a vacancy first.

I think the Sep/Oct timeline they shared with you to restart indoc classes is probably still accurate.

Ah the classic Old Person vs Young Person argument. Love it.

"I had it worse, so you can't complain!!"

"I'm offended that you're complaining, but you're a snowflake!"

Anyway, back on topic. The amount of backfilling will be telling. I think we're in for a little period of stagnation, but it shouldn't be too bad due to the mass number of retirements.

How's that affect the stock buy back program?
