This was the BA lobby massively overplaying their hand. It smacks of corruption as well as negotiations fluff (220% reduced to 50%, see how fair we are!) but you're right that this will be a big part of the broader US/UK agreement, assuming there really even is anything more than a fake Brexit in name only but I digress.

The UK is, by far, our best European trading partner. Its not even close. Germany is our biggest, but the trade imbalance in their favor is staggering. The UK is our second biggest, but the trade imbalance is almost non existent by comparison. Its effectively an even trading partner. IMO its not in our interest to try and harm that.

Even from a nationalistic POV, BA is wrong about this. They don't even make a competing plane, and the closest they do make is inferior from a cost and fuel perspective (Evil carbon! Perhaps we should make that point at the altar of the church of the carbon religion...just sayin) and the C actually does produce a lot of US jobs. Much of what's foreign are two of our biggest and most important trading allies. Meanwhile they suckle at the nozzle of big dot gov to temporarily profit off of attempting to permanently destroy our entire airline industry which would reduce jobs long term.

Boeing does not make a product of this size, there isn't any protection of American Jobs. Quite the contrary, Bombardier
employs thousands in the United States who may lose their jobs if the Series program fails making the administrations already weak job growth performance even weaker.

It's the CS300 that is similar size to the 737-700. The CS-300 is slated for 132 seats. Our 737-700 seats 124.

Does Boeing still make the 737-700?? If not - it really doesn’t matter. Like saying we can just buy some “new” DC-9-30s from Boeing....

Does that mean the CS100 is similar to the out of production 737-600 then?

Correct. And it's important to remember that Boeing offered to sell used Air Canada E190s to Delta for cheap to get them off their books (acquired through a swap deal with Air Canada for 737 MAX aircraft). Boeing offered E190s because it doesn't have an aircraft in Delta's desired seat category (no more new 737-600s or 717s produced)... And now it claims to be financially harmed! Say what?

So the max takeoff crosswind at airports above 4000 MSL is 5 kts according to the Vol 1. 5 kts?? Guess it won't be spending any time in DEN and SLC
