Now, now pretty soon the first of 179 KC-46 Pegasus tankers (Pegasi?) will be built, so add that to the 41....

To say Boeing had already gotten a bit too big for their britches back then might have been true.... today? We are 20 years beyond the double downs on the 737 and riding their big corporate wave.

Given that flying the 737 for a year was enough for me to go "screw this, I'm trying the airbus," I'm completely fine with us nuking the rest of the 739 order as well in lieu of 32(X)NEOs.
Coming to the Airbus changed my life.

I now listen to European rock bands I never hear of in the States. And it's not just Mumford and Sons, too western. And when I see a jetway with an HSBC sign, I feel a tingle. Illy grocery store signs make me feel at home. French is no longer a language you laugh at but now you savor, like the baguettes. And poor provicincial towns. And Emma Watson... oh wait, that's not new.

When I stay at our MCO overnight, I study what the Brits wear at the IHOP. Even the Brits who you feel like shouting "HEY I THINK YOUR TEENAGE DAUGHTER LOOKS LIKE A STRIPPER AND IT'S FRANKLY GROSS!"

I even am thinking about getting some tats and ear rings.

I wear shoes that I'm not 100% are men's shoes. But unisex is in, eh? <- eh is for David purdy

And I wear skinny jeans and love it.

Merci Beaucoup y'all.

Clamp - you don't think the 767-400 is a good airplane vs the A330? Why, how dare you! Boeing sold 41 of them and AB sold 1900+ A330's, not counting the +1000 A330NEO's that will be sold! LOL!
You omit one small fact in the purchase. The 767-400 was at the time of purchased planned for a domestic replacement for the L011. It needed to fit into LGA. Boeing made design changes to allow the aircraft LGA access. The 330 lacked the ability to operate there.

I didn't know that, why on earth would AB release a twin that cut out such a large segment as LGA.

yet somehow about the same time pen had been put to paper creating the 777.

so its probably more a case of motivation and strategic calculation, than it is one of ability.

that, and a few close shaves with financial ruin in their history.

Sounds like the U.K. may have something to say about this as well. Wonder if Boeing saw this coming...

its never as simple as it seems when politics and money are involved.

seems I recall the tristar birth had its share of intrigue too.
