Doubtful. There is not much demand for aircraft in this size range, efficient or not.

ExIm bank, etc... Boeing owns DC. I know there's a lot of anger, but it's probably time we played nice with them. No beating them apparently...
Buck Foeing.

I say buy Airbus and just to **** them off, buy that new Chinese POS.
Okay, maybe not that far, but Boeing needs to suffer for this stupidity, especially since they don't even have a plane to compete! This is crazy.

Delta bought an oil refinery. What's to say they couldn't buy a plane maker?

Which sadly is reflected in the order book.

They might be able to make a near tit for tit order cancel if delta drops c series.

The slight problem will be if Boeing is right about Bombardier. But to me that's like a mob boss calling a politician dirty.

This eventually goes to the WTO. I think American protectionism will be weighed given our current politics and NAFTA and Climate accord and Pacific trade deal and Mexican wall funding and... Yeah, this doesn't get settled any time soon.

In the interim does Delta take delivery of a plane that may or may not have a huge tariff due sometime in the future? That's a real risk. I think the lawyers are going over the CS contract very thoroughly today. And Ed is on the phone with our "partners" who have relationships with Airbus. VA, AF/KLM, CEA, etc. And maybe even our Boeing "partners" GOL, AM etc. This could have ripples throughout the purchase orders that Delta has its hands in.

The scope line was not drawn when these aircraft were developed. Now it has become a political pawn. The 100 seater has been plagued by outside forces, not market demand. This political, and trade war will soon consume the widebody market for American carriers as well. Boeing will be right there lobbying for foreign pilot rights in the US, while countries limit American pilots from flying to their airports.

You want to sell cheap 787 to everyone outside of the us, but get upset when delta orders a better product then you can make?
I hope delta doubles down on the c series order, cancels the remainder of the 737-900s and orders more 321
I like my jets made in alabamer
Welcome to Trumps America, one that facilitates this kind of corporate control. I hope those Trump supporting pilots (you know who you are) weren't thinking on bidding this airplane..If so, you will get what you deserve. I sure hope Delta doesn't take a hit in profits over this either as the economics of this jet were certainly in the numbers for next year-profit sharing might be smaller too.
