Everything on the 717 leaves a lot to be desired. Love it when the slats come out with a big clunk. Makes me laugh every time.

Some of us are excited about the advanced tech in the flight deck. You can alter the flight plan by using a mouse and clicking on the nav screen. The engines start with the flip of a switch. No more switching power or turning air systems on and off. Yeah i know I haven't flown a bus yet - i hear it does the same thing.

No doubt the CS100 will be well liked by passengers and profits will improve on the shorter flights with the improved fuel efficiency. It will be a great airplane for Delta.

That said, I really do think an initial CS300 order (like Air Canada's and Korean's CS300 orders) would have made more sense since the 717 can handle the 1,000-mile, 100 seat regional markets....
It'd take a long time for those fuel savings to offset the higher acquisition cost. We're talking a $38K hybrid with 40mpg vs a relatively new $8k car with financial incentives and 28mpg, save 360 bucks a year and spend 7000 grand more in financing. And worse yet, nobody else seems to be ordering that hybrid.

And the CEO said it was meant to replace 76 seat rjs.

We expect it to be Delta cheap and stall.

Fwiw the c100 is not the only new thing we bought cheap, the 350s according to those in the know who talk a lot they went cheap on that thing too.

It was sorta embarassing when center would clear us lat/long and "um..we just have two VOR's...Sorry." (The mighty DC-10.)

Hey evidently they ripped out good cockpit seats as the 320 came in. I heard once southwest brings their new 737s in and replaces the tires and sells the new ones. Idk if that's true but they may one up the nwa aircraft acquisition team by a hair... which is for sale.

Butt like sailing said, he's never heard of anyone putting performance restrictions on an aircraft to get money off. And thats probably true. Until now. SWA be like ****, that's a good one.

Well if you take the wings and engines off the CRJ, stick them to the 717, you can stretch that range.

Has science gone too far?

Is that what the ARJ21 is?
