I have no doubt that after observing the Swiss and Baltic experiences with the CS Delta will about the time of first delivery amend their agreement with Bombardier and agree to pay a few extra million a copy and contractually operate in on routes such as NYC to DEN DFW etc as well as what I expect to become the prime NYC ORD shuttle replacing the current non mainline E jet service. I see the CS being deployed in the 'new' DL hubs of NYC LAX and SEA to the hubs of DL competitors with a most compelling comfortable relatively small mainline aircraft with a CASM competitive with AA UAL WN and AS mainline aircraft.

Wasn't the stated goal of the C Series to replace regional flying. If that is the case, the extended range is probably a moot point. Nice to know at some point it has the capability to do long legs, but still fits the "how much will it cost me today" criteria and bring regional flying back to mainline

The 717/C-series takes over lift being flown by 76 seaters, so they can free those jets up to take over 50 seater lift.
