So there is a PPT presentation on the C-Series if you're interested. Shows the HUD... and the words: The HUD is not installed on Delta CS-100 / CS-300 aircraft .

....yet???????? The aircraft will be great with or without a HUD (even though I would prefer it as an option). Thanks for the update.

Huh.. not surprised about the HUDs. I am surprised at what seems to be some erroneous performance info...

The Delta site says max range is 1938NM.

Bombardier says max range is 3100NM.

Both are full pax, 2 class cabin, reserves.

Also, the climb performance page shows the CS100 as having worse climb performance than an A321. Seriously?

I think someone should let route planning know that the airplane can fly transcons...

...Still no base decision???

Agreed - there appears to be some performance errors. The CS100 flew nonstop from London City to JFK a few months ago (although in a biz class layout in terms of weight). Air Baltic will be using the CS300 on a 5-6 hour flight between Riga, Latvia and Abu Dhabi.

Any idea if the PPT was created before the HUD decision? Maybe the intern tasked with creating it was told to proceed as if it didn't...

Here's hoping that's the case.

It seems like a pretty intentional statement. I had heard that DL wanted to stop installing the HUDs on the 737's, but the FAA was going to make them retrofit the whole fleet, change training and other expensive things. So they said fine, but never again...

It's still a CAT IIIb airplane without the HUD. I'm more surprised by the range circles that are laughably out of whack. Wonder what's up with that?

With that range just buy more A319s.

As to the HUDs, if every CAT II and III is a autoland anyways then there really isn't a need for a HUD. So it makes sense.

It is capable of the longer range (3000nm) if Delta decides to buy it. DAL had indicated earlier that they might be going with the shorter range. No idea what the cost difference is between the two.
