Best part of the C Series is it can join the long list of airplanes that we fly at Delta where the question "so what do you fly?" cannot be answered without a long conversation.

List
C Series
MD88
MD90
717
Airbus A330
Airbus A350
MD-11
L1011
767
Any RJ

Not on that list
747

Sort of not on that list
777
737
757
A320 (Sully)
DC10
727

RJ guys must be wayyyyy more flexible than us old-timer mainline guys. I foresee a full month at the ATL Spa and some type of daily goat yoga before the sole of my foot would ever find itself on that cursor hand rest. 😁

No that's code word for "begin operation get Kim Jong Un."

I believe the C stands for C grade, like in school or on your egg carton.

A Series is an A grade... Airbus.

B Series is a B grade... Boeing.

and C Series is a C grade... Canuk...?? Why did they do that? Anyways...

D series is D grade... not mentioning any names.

F Series is F grade... Fokkers?

Am I picking up an Airbus bias? I consider that a positive if accurate. Having read about the flight control laws in the C, I'm cautiously optimistic, in theory.

If you consider the fact that CSeries has no space between the C and Series, it's pronounced Ceries. Which is French for Cherry. So either they have been reading too many Canadian Mags (deep reference), or they are naming it the Bombardier Cherry. Cherry Bomb. Too far? Maybe. Kinda is though...

Imagine if Douglas had merged with Dornier to make DoDo birds.
