VSD on the 220 rocks
Yeah, it's even much improved from the E170. If they could get the VSD on the FOs side stretched...

You want an airplane that does VNAV, makes the altitudes AND speeds (+/- 7 knots) plus a VSD....come on over to the 737! 😜

But if you are senior to me....stay away...it’s loud and cramped!!!

It is literally the one and only thing that the 73 does better than the bus. I curse the bus every time I start a managed (VNAV) decent knowing what it’s going to do.

The 900 does not like to slow down.

I’m gonna call BS on that. The 737 will not do a VNAV descent without going into the zipper. And the VSD only works if you’re going straight, and it only works in map center.

I'm gonna call BS on your BS

The 73 does VNAV well 80% of the time. To avoid the zipper, program .78/320 in the descent page.

Also you don't need to open the window in turbulence. Just set .80 as the max cruise and max descent speed in perf init page 2.

My favorite on the 73 is when you're descending at idle on the path and everything is looking good but then for some reason the airplane adds a burst of power and then immediately announces unable next alt and speedbrake required. I always think to myself "no, airplane, you got yourself into this mess and you need to fix it."
