Based on what I heard for the next bid the 787 is dead near term.

If it doesn’t have a tail skid and use a tail stand, it ain’t long enough.

Default New Service listed in Dec. Bid Pack: MPS-AUS

I often have to remind myself that the bid packages have a ton good info that many pilots including myself never take the time to review. Today I jumped into it, and noticed an unfamiliar airport mentioned by the 220 Senior Crew Planner. The 220 will fly between MPS and AUS. A bit of Google research reveals that MPS is a now-closed airport in Mount Pleasant, Utah, south of SLC. I doubt it ever had airline service. Is this a bid package typo, and meant to be MSP, or is there another mystical MPS somewhere in the universe?

Within the last month one of our VPs said the 787 was on the table. Since the 5 year plan changes weekly this could no longer be the case

I guess it depends on the definition of near term. The 350 LATAM deal has made it a bit more complicated.

You dashed my hopes. I've got a couple sister-wives stashed in Mt. Pleasant.

I would not be shocked if their was an airbus standard cockpit and fly by wire system jammed into the A220 perhaps only as an option, so that airlines can have a whole fleet with only differences training between indoc and retirement.
