IMHO much of it ties into the FAA privatization initiative. If the bill passes Next Gen will be delayed significantly as restructuring under the private sector commences. ADS-B will be a major element that becomes delayed. As long as we have engines for the birds we should be able to operate them beyond 2020.

Maybe you guys will do better with a mainline contract, but a few years back, we were doing the 76 seat point to point stuff that Ed says the Cseries is replacing, and it ran us so thin at 9E; Was part of the reason for the retention bonus, and a guarantee from Delta, that the majority of our flying will be out of the hubs.
During that time, I would get 4 day trips with 15+ hours of deadheading, and it got old real quick.

1) Exited a second Bankruptcy in less than 10 years
2) Delta assigned the CEO who shut down Comair to run Pinnacle
3) Majority of other regionals were hiring and upgrading.
4) We were downgrading and putting planes in the dessert.
5) We were losing more FO's than CA's, who were making lateral moves to other regionals.
6) The refocus to hub and spoke system was to increase efficiency, nothing to do with Crew QOL.
Which of the 6 above points relate to Delta bringing Cseries into the system and it going junior? We didn't run thin because of point to point flying.

Now we learn it was just too much deadheading, who knew?

I was told Delta's main concern in this department isn't delays the airframe's construction as that's being proven everyday for other carriers. Instead, they say if there are any delays it will be most likely because of issues with cabin installation since Bombardier has never done one for us before.

I had the same thought. However, that doesn't mean Bombardier did the cabin design/installs in the past. Plus, cabin technology has advanced quickly. There was no IFE and screens on those RJs.

There is nothing super unique or revolutionary about our cabins compared to anyone else that would cause even a slight delay, much less anything significant.
This is a massive non issue. If anyone official is claiming this nonsense, I'd be very concerned because its some of the most obvious propaganda/chaff being popped to cover for something else.

Oh, I thought it was your predatory negotiations ... 25% under other ALPA carriers, torpedo'd the Eagle MEC and modified the Delta PWA 1 D. 11. and 1 D. 12. without so much as a phone call to the Delta MEC ... that resulted in the clusterfudoodle that required an emergency cash injection to prevent implosion.
Now we learn it was just too much deadheading, who knew?

In their defense (not really though) SKYW's infamous "deal me an ace" was the "shot heard round the world" that undermined what should have been massive upward pressure for the regional sector during their incredible growth/demand phase.
Pay for Training in the new hire phase was replaced by Pay for Upgrade by actively undercutting other regionals in their negotiations.
There would be other examples of this for sure, but the timing and effect/"success" of that one made it basically unrecoverable until fairly recently and the "shortage" finally happened (or whatever you want to call it).
