You Bombardier and Airbus fanboys have it all wrong.
If you really want cutting edge design and next level innovation the Comac c919 is really where it’s at. Way better ergonomics, LEAP engines (far more reliable than the geared Pratt’s) and just LOOK at that cockpit:

I want to be able to smoke my unfiltered cigarettes like a civilized person and not ash all over the place. You probably have to vape in the C series like a savage.

How dare you! Those seats are a work of art. Much better ergonomics than the C series. And does the C Series have an ashtray on the armrest? I think not.

And seriously, getting the trade case against Boeing dropped was pretty easy, Delta doesn’t go for easy. They embrace a challenge.
Comac or go home!

I mean think about it. It's probably got the best IT in the world. It's probably a iPad 9 on steroids. What's an iPad 14? See how far ahead it is?
It probably has bluetooth and can ring when someone calls you. And touchscreens. The backup battery lasts 10 hours so who cares if you didn't do the secure checklist.
Probably has the best fly by wire outside of the F22 or F35... Given it's the exact same code. So it's Stealth. Beat that. And the helmet probably has 4D virtual reality so you can see through the airplane and even smell the jet fuel.
And when stuff explodes behind you, you. Don't. Even. Look. Back. You just keep on walking.
And we buy it and Xi Xi Ping gives Delta access to China's markets. And we can get it with a Costco discount.
**** you Airbus and Boeing.

For some reason all of the black background control panels on the C919 remind me of the Death Star control room....

I'm somewhat mystified as well that c series isn't going to be one this AE. When you figure it's nearly a 3 month(ish) schedule from average time of award, geek stick at home study, 1 month(ish) of school, 1 month of OE, it seems odd they wouldn't start getting the ball rolling. I wonder if there isn't a delivery scheduling issue?
