While the bean counters won’t care, Delta marketing folks are probably excited about the significant cabin upgrade in the CSeries vs the Airbus. The CSeries is a huge hit among Business travelers in Europe (for SWISS which operates CS100s, CS300s and A320/21s). Bigger bins, bigger windows, bigger lavs, 2x3 seating and up to 3,000 mile range with 5 hour flights to Cairo and Moscow doable in the CSeries - and that new-car smell... LOL

In the end, the CASM on the CS300 is hard to beat, and add the range flexibility, the quiet engines and the cabin improvements and it becomes pretty compelling. I have read that interest in the CSeries has picked up considerably since the favorable ITC ruling. We’ll see...

I would expect to see some combo deals with both CSeries and the larger A321 NEO (especially the LR version) once the Bombardier/Airbus collaboration is approved by the regulators. Not sure about the timing on that.

I agree that we would never consider configuring the CS300 that way. I'm just saying I could see Boeing attempting to make the argument, if for no other reason than to further delay sales and deliveries. Hopefully the Mobile FAL makes it obvious that it isn't worth their trouble in any case.

That's where you pour out the water so you can park the windshield wipers.

If anyone wants a closer look at the CS300, someone just emailed this link to me (haven't seen it but it looks pretty good):

I think expanding U.S. manufacturing is the plan. Final assembly in Europe and the U.S. diversifies the company and allows Airbus to become an influential player in North America.

Also to pour water on the windshield to get the “windshield high temp” light to go out! Not that I have ever done that sort of thing... 😀

One thing to note... that hatch does come off its hinges and can be quite tricky to get back on.

It can make for a bit of an awkward few minutes on a nice spring day... not that I would know from experience or anything.

Is it the standard CRJ hatch?

I should have prefaced it with "if it's the same hatch."
