A320NEO holds ~25% more people than CS300, and burns more gas and has higher trip costs, not to mention a much higher acquisition cost...they aren’t really even comparable planes. The CS300 provides an incremental size increase with incremental cost increase. A320NEO would be a much bigger leap up. Guessing between the 319/320/737 fleet, there are enough in that size range.

Here’s the same discussion and a nice graphic.

The seat range for the decision included the capacity of the CS300, so it wouldn't change anything.

They are different sized aircraft and would be for different markets.

Are we sure? As I recall the seat range being considered was 100-150 seats. The CS300 can seat up to 160 passengers in all economy configuration. Unless the parameters specified dual-class assumptions I could absolutely see Boeing trying to renew their complaint. There is a more credible comparison between the CS300 and the 737-700 or MAX 7.

By the time we might be able to convert a 100 order to the 300 they will have a US facility if desired. I suspect however the final ruling will include both variants.

There is a big escape hatch in the ceiling, at least in the sim, is that a real thing? Did the windows open?

Windows don't open and yes there is an escape hatch above the pilot seats. The two seats have a place to stand on to climb up.

What planes do we have that have an all economy configuration?

Well I'm not making the case for it per se, just spitballing on outcomes.
