To clarify, we already own a share in these aircraft. But hey...We're getting the A350!

I just wish we could fly with 49% of Virgin's Flight Attendants!

Oh, and I get to pick which ones!

To further clarify:

We own 49% of Virgin Atlantic. That includes aircraft, lounges, ground equipment, computers and real-estate. We also effectively own (through derivatives and will hold the shares by the end of the third quarter) Aeromexico, which includes all of its property.

This is the new "work around" for management when it comes to international scope. The "virtual merger" as its called is a JV partnered with a 49% equity stake. This merger effectively allows Delta to expand internationally without putting Delta pilots or Delta metal on those routes. Not being a merger of the two companies allows Delta to operate this way and leaves the Delta pilots without recourse via our merger and successor language in our section 1 SCOPE.

This is the new Delta, only required to operate 650,000 wide-body hours globally. The rest can be outsourced to any operator they choose. So far they have chosen to expand with the virtually merged subsidiaries. Brilliant business strategy really, but in does nothing to grow or maintain the Delta pilots international flying.

The only other big takeaways for me was the company has extremely high hopes based on initial performance numbers mainly because it sips fuel, something like 1800lbs a side in the high 30s. It will specialize in the long thin routes, "think 1500-2000 mile routes" he told me.

Just food for thought.

The AE will just have TBD100A or TBD100B. They'll figure out where to base it after they see who bids it.

According to the info CerA CerB would be more appropriate.

The 650,000 block hour requirement doesn't mean a thing if we maintain at least 48.5 percent of the flying over the Atlantic.

Korean was the pacific plan all along.

And how has that quota played out to date?

Are you saying they can do less if the Atlantic JV is in compliance? You have entirely the wrong perspective when evaluating this. Think like management, not a pilot.

How can they have an AE without bases posted? Who on earth would bid it? How would iCrew handle it?
