Having worked with them very closely, I think they were confident the Canadians were bluffing. This could end up being worth much, much more if the Canadians switch to the F-35 from here on out. Not to mention the hit if the UK follows through. My general impression of Boeing military sakes is they are very arrogant and won’t believe countries will not eventually cave.

Honestly, I don't think they had a choice. Boeing is stuck with the 737, because there is no easy way to absorb the development costs of a new aircraft, when Airbus already has the perfected design.

When writers throw those numbers out they are also over the life of the airplane. So yeah, 6 Billion over 30 years. You know the cost includes
Maintenance, munitions and whatnot that they still have to buy for their old aircraft. Tell the Canadians to stop dumping and everything is fixed.
The military side of Boeing is the old MD. Boeing Commercial Airplanes is where they make their money... and they make a lot.
If the C Series is such a great aircraft as you say why did they have to sell them to Delta at such a low price?

So F-18s cost 333.3 Million each? I knew pilots were bad at math but man.. Sorry but you data on the Super Hornets is inaccurate.

So F-18s have an up-front cost and are then free to operate over a 30 year lifespan? I knew pilots were bad at math but you data on the Super Hornets is inaccurate...

F-18s do not cost 333M, correct. However if they buy a European system, weapons and lifetime mx....seems about right.
They are temp replacing with some Aussie birds, but long term I'm guessing they'll go with a competitor. And yes it'll cost some cash. That Boeing won't be getting.
Dumping allegations aside (and what is Boeing's competing product that was harmed...?) objectively the C series is an awesome product.
Be interesting to see the ruling in Jan.
Delta is all about the benjamins, so betting the next order will be whoever is cheapest.
