I don't remember having read anywhere that the aircraft could not fly the windshear correctly. I think it either flies it or it doesn't when the autopilot disconnects. By any chance, do you remember where you read that Airbus recommends the AP off?
An EGPWS escape maneuver would be a terrain warning, wouldn’t it?

On certain airplanes the windshear function is done by mode 7 of the egpws. Not on our 320 and not on the 330/340 I've flewn. Maybe on our old Nwa 330's though.

The posted procedure was from a 320 manual. Went back and looked at it and even though it's listed with windshear as a sub topic I believe you are correct. It's the standard terrain avoidance. The 320 manual I am looking at does say autopilot on for windshear if engaged at the time of the warning.

PF
1 Accomplished Simultaneously
THRUST:
“WINDSHEAR TOGA”
- Set TOGA thrust
PITCH:
- Roll wings level
- Rotate at a normal takeoff rotation rate (2-3° /sec) to FD commanded attitude (including full back sidestick). If SRS not available, use 17.5° with full back sidestick if required
- If autopilot engaged, use it

2 CONFIGURATION
- Verify speedbrakes are in
- Do not alter gear/flap configuration until terrain clearance is assured

3 Recover to normal climb when out of windshear

4 AFTER WINDSHEAR RECOVERY
- Resume normal flight

They are still putting instructors and LCAs through the training so there must be some hope for a resolution. If not, those folks will be looking at some serious time off!

I suspect the narrow body order soon to be announced will be tied to Boeing agreeing to drop the complaint.

All this talk reminds me of the OClub at Miramar.

I didn't think about that but it would make sense. On the other hand, if ordering more Airbuses, the company could get some 321 neo LR which are capable enough to be used across Pacific and Atlantic oceans and be used on some of the 757's routes. (200 seats-ish/4000nm). The 737max cannot do that at the moment.
Since Boeing is not going to offer the 797 before 2025 at the earliest, the 321 LR could be a good option. I'm wondering if the company sees that aircraft as a possibility.

On a different subject (sorry for hijacking the discussion again ), does anybody know if the company is looking at getting some upgrades to the 320 fleet such ROW/ROP (alerts crew if overweight before takeoff and landing) and/or runway awareness and advisory system (synthetic voice saying "approaching runway 34L" during taxi or "on runway 34L", etc...) ?

That sounds expensive.
