This CS100 was certified for steep approaches at London City and, after refueling, flew nonstop from London City (with its short runway) to JFK. A business class interior (i.e. 40 biz class seats) could probably work for a premium London City route with a lot of business traveler demand. BA requires a fuel stop in Shannon for its biz-class only A318 on that route while the CS100 can fly it nonstop with even some additional seats.
If 6-10 flights a day are feasible, I think a far stronger business case would be to fly a two class configuration (even up to the 108 seat "standard"). Rather than nonstop LCY to JFK, I'd suggest instead stopping at Shannon for preclearance/fuel. Then Shannon to LGA! Also DCA. Billy Bishop in Toronto would be another potential winner if they could ever get clearance to fly jets in there. MDW? Probably too far. The convenience of flying directly into LGA/DCA would be a great offset of the Shannon stopover and allow full loads. Anyways, never gonna happen but fun to think about.

Where are you reading that? The Crew Resources Monthly Update for the July 2017 Bid Period says, "We are planning on posting an AE this fall. This posting will occur in the September or October time frame. This posting will open the CS100 base. Network continues to evaluate deployment options, we will continue to provide updates on

Well let's see...first it was SEA for sure....then that went away and it was LAX for sure.....then rumors started circulating about NYC about a month ago and the 717s staying in LAX....now its LAX or NYC.....my bet is that a month from now it's NYC only.

I've been hearing NYC or LAX/SEA for awhile. Yes, the rumors did seem to favor the west coast. I thought you had something a little more substantial that I missed. The mass exodus of the -88 in NYC seemed like a pretty sure thing the C-series would go there, but I guess they covered that stuff with the 320.

The problem with the existing LCY-JFK A318 service is that it is only 1-2 times daily, and that just doesn't work for business travelers. Plus LCY is so runway/tarmac constrained that I don't know if it could ever handle the 6-10 flights a day that would be required to make it viable for business travelers
LGA & DCA would not be possible do to perimeter restrictions. (1500nm limit).
