My guess is no AE anytime soon. Just my guess but the 88 retirement schedule is going to be in constant flux now. 88 could have the new pseudo freeze for awhile.

The Commerce and USITC investigation are over, Boeing will likely turn to the WTO for an anti-trust investigation. However, that will go no where as Airbus is buying the plane, and not Bombardier. Delta will now get the Cseries, but the question is when, my bet is the first half of 2020.

What Delta needs now is for Bombardier to go into chapter 11, so you can get out of paying for the increased performance.

The increased performance penalties were so low it's a non issue.

Does Delta now extend ASA, as the regional flying is shrinking too fast?

Delta says Bombardier CSeries delivery schedule unclear | Reuters
The 88 and 90 are hampered by parts availability. They can't be extended too much longer

My wild guess is park some 88s and 90s to save for later and replace their lift by upgauging with 321s from our bff... airbus.

Buy time for c series to get here.

Hearing it could be a 2 year delay elsewhere but maybe shorter. Can't imagine the Lego jet' s mobile line would be that hard to get together if it's just a snap and go. I wonder if they fly a A400 in to deliver fuselages?

Where is this 2 year delay number coming from? I've only seen reference to hearsay. Both the 100 and 300 are in operation already so I guess I don't see what would cause it. Normally it's certification issues that cause such a delay and I thought this plane already has the FAA green light.

Also, to be considered US made, could final assembly not be as simple as slapping the hubcaps on in Mobile?

^^^^^^^^^This. Having the delivery plant in Mobile should do the trick. Boeing has ensured the success of this scheme with their huge lobbying efforts. Take a quick look at where the 787 is "built." They could put most of the components on a truck and drive them to Alabama.

I’m dense and don’t see an answer to my question. Does the 220% tariff for receiving subsidies just go away? You’re saying because it will be “final assembled” in the US there is now not a case against the subsidies as well?

If Bombardier and Airbus really wanted to reduce any delays they could easily open up a hangar in Plattsburgh (NY) just over the border and truck in all the parts. Make it nice and quick and i'm sure the people of upstate NY would love all the extra $$$ and jobs. It's only a 90 minute drive between the Montreal airport and the Plattsburgh airport. Yes they'd have to build some facilities but all that could get done in 12-18 months.
