personal drop - am I missing something?

After reading the other responses, my guess is that the annoyance probably stems from the association between personal drops and new hires missing consolidation, which creates extra work for them. Even though that wasn't an issue for me, I can see how they might see those drops and get concerned.

No he can't elaborate. And won't. The question was asked and answered because the CP was not the person to ask at the time.
Welcome to Delta. Mild hazing by the CP seems to be the norm. You probably won't see him again until you fly with him years from now after he leaves the office. He just needs to let you know he's the boss.
BTW, good on you for learning and using our system to improve your QOL. We have senior folks who still haven't figured that out. You were perfectly without your rights and the system.

I've heard of this happening to other pilots recently. I don't understand where the chief pilot is coming from if it's allowed by the contract. It's not like you're fleecing the company. You aren't getting paid and they have enough coverage so what's the problem?
