Personally for me, it does the opposite. If someone I cross paths on the street who puts their mask on well before we get close or if someone raises their voice an annunciates rather than pulling their mask down and lean in to talk it makes me respect and connect with them much more easily. It shows they are aware of things going on in the world and respect strangers enough to inconvenience themselves or check to make sure the other person is comfortable being close or unmasked before making someone feel unsafe or uncomfortable. You never know someone’s risk, or experience or level of comfort with it so starting at the top feels more “human” to me. I feel a greater connection and ability to work with or interact someone like that rather than someone with an exposed nose, or chin diaper, or pulling it down to talk or cough.

I’m sure y’all are eager to call me a wuss for that but I think there is something to be said for the positive human aspect of masking as well.
